Springfield - Jose Delgado today announced the support of Former Governor Charlie Baker and Former Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito for his City Council campaign. The former Governor identified Jose as the champion Springfield needs:
“Jose is a true public servant and is exactly the kind of person we need in Government. He works hard, gets things done, and doesn’t get distracted by divisive politics.” Baker said. “We were lucky to have him serve in our administration, and I’m happy to see him advancing in his public service.”
Lt. Governor Karyn Polito said Springfield could use a Councilor who can advocate on a City and State level:
“Working with cities was a top priority for our administration, and Jose was a partner we could count on. He always advocated strongly for Western Mass and I know he’ll be an effective City Councilor for Springfield,” she said.
Delgado says he is honored to have worked in the administration and to have the Governor and Lt. Governor’s support. “I thank Governor Baker and Lt Governor Polito for their leadership and their support. I’m ready to hit the ground running on day one.”
Delgado served as Western Mass Director and as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Baker administration. He currently serves as Chief Engagement Officer for the Executive Office of Public Safety in Governor Maura Healey’s administration. He placed 5th in recent preliminary elections which narrowed the field of candidates from 21 to 10. The top 5 in November make it on the City Council.
